Lucy Roussel - Glass Artist
Region: Toronto, Ontario
artist portfolio contact artist
Description of Work:
I don’t like endings and I think that that is why I look to nature with its never-ending cycles of transformation and rebirth for inspiration in my work. I also believe that no single trait or characteristic defines a person, just as no single piece of work defines an artist. While I have chosen glass as my primary mode of expression I incorporate it with other materials such as metal, wood, and stone. We live in a technological age characterized by specialization and compartmentalization, but we are part of the natural world. Nature is all about complexity, uniqueness, and interaction and possessed of an intricate beauty. It is these characteristics that I attempt to incorporate into my work.
