Who we are

A group of approximately 25 active members supporting the functions of the Ontario Craft Council, interested in the world of craft and wanting to learn more about how crafts are done. In addition to our support role we conduct our own fundraising to finance grants and scholarships for emerging artists and also support special projects of the OCC.

For new members

Are you interested in the craft world?
Do you enjoy spending time with a group of fun loving people who joined because of their interest in crafts and found a new group of friends?
Would you like to help the Ontario Craft Community succeed?
Do you have a few hours a month to spare to provide help to the OCC?

If you answered YES to these questions you should consider joining the OCC Volunteer Committee. Please fill out the application form provided or contact us at the address/phone number above.

Activities

Monthly general meeting, third Thursday of each month from September to June. This meeting consists of a business meeting for the Volunteer Committee and a presentation from a crafts person about their work.
Volunteer Committee fundraisers:
- Spring bus studio tour in Southern Ontario
- Other activities such as wine tasting dinner, cooking class, theatre night

Two yearly one day workshops to learn a craft activity
Support the OCC functions
- Help in the Guild Shop (both back office and sales floor)
- Help the Office staff ( mailings, award program administration, database updates, craft shows book, fundraisers, craft show help)
