CraftNews is published twice a year by the Ontario Crafts Council. The newsletter aims to update you on the activities and developments of the Ontario crafts community and to provide you with the tools to build your craft career.
The latest issue of the newsletter covers recent exhibitions, symposiums and conferences such as Making Matters: Sustainability and Craft Practices and Neocraft; technical information to help you determine how to choose a digital camera suitable for photographing your work for print publications and how to obtain work permits for the United States; Member Focus, which introduces you to the work of OCC member Michelle Prosek; an invitation to apply for the OCC Awards & Scholarships program; and OCC achievements over the last year.
We have expanded this issue of our newsletter and reestablished the name CraftNews. These changes reflect our commitment to evolving in response to member needs and providing useful tools for craftspeople. We value your feedback; please contact communications@craft.on.ca to tell us what you think.
Get CraftNews the Way You Like It
The Ontario Crafts Council distributes CraftNews electronically as part of decrease cost, delivery time and our impact on the environment. For the convenience of craftspeople that do not have an internet connection or find the downloading time prohibitive due to dial-up connection speeds, we offer a print version of CraftNews. Please contact Valerie McLean at vmclean@craft.on.ca or 416-925-4222 ext.221 to have the hardcopy version of CraftNews sent to you.
Make Your Voice Heard
The OCC keeps craftspeople across the province connected and you can help. Make your voice heard by volunteering to write a regional report for the next issue of CraftNews. Your contribution can be as easy as a one time 200 word article or sign-up for more than one issue - it’s that simple. We know you appreciate hearing about great news from other regions, so share what’s going on in yours. Contact Shauna Cake at communications@craft.on.ca to volunteer.
